Coal

Coal is one of the most important primary fossil fuels, a solid carbon-rich material that is usually brown or black and most often occurs in stratified sedimentary deposits. It is an amazing resource that has been used for centuries to produce heat and power. It is a natural resource that is abundant in many parts of the world, and it is a good way to produce energy that is environmentally friendly.

Coal is divided into four main types and these are anthracite, bituminous, sub-bituminous, and lignite. The ranking of the coal is done by the amount and the type of carbon that is present in the coal and its ability to produce heat when it is burned.
